An overstable driver differs from other drivers in that the right-handed player throws an overstable driver, the trajectory of the disc turns faster and more to the left than the less-stable discs. Overstable drivers are not best for novice throwers because they require significantly more throwing speed. With too little power, an overstable disc will quickly turn to the ground and often out of the fairway.
Overstable discs are good in windier conditions because they can fight headwinds and keep any throwing line. Forehand throwers often like overstable discs because of their managable control.
Overstable drivers are also useful for avoiding obstacles, tomahawk shots, spike hyzers, and for skip shots. When you see how veteran players and experienced professionals use overstable drivers for insanely long throws, let the lesson sink in and start training!
